Just a new year ?

Looking Back, Looking Forward: A New Year's Eve Reflection

Good Morning, Good Afternoon, and Good Evening to All!

New Year's Eve, huh? It feels like just yesterday we were ringing in 2023, and now here we are, ready to say goodbye. Time truly flies. Every year, I, like many of us, am bombarded with advice on setting goals, forming habits, and achieving ambitions – especially thanks to the endless stream of tips on TikTok. But this year, I approached things a bit differently. Instead of just jotting down a list, I wanted to delve deeper into the why behind my goals and truly reflect on the year that's passed.

Unexpected Progress: Recognizing the Real Wins

Thankfully, by my own standards, I've made some real progress this year. Bit by bit, I've improved in various aspects of my life, and that's always a good thing to acknowledge. But something struck me as odd when I revisited my goals from last year. I hadn't accomplished any of them! And when I looked closer, I realized they weren't really my true goals. They were just things that sounded good on paper, things that were nice to have but not necessarily essential to my growth.

So, when this year began, my attention naturally shifted to my genuine aspirations – to simply become a better person overall. I'm still far from perfect, but the focus was on genuine self-improvement, not just ticking boxes on a generic list.

The Power of Self-Appreciation: A Little Self-Glaze Goes a Long Way

Something else I've noticed, especially in the last month, is that I've been complimenting myself a lot more. I'm genuinely appreciating what I've managed to accomplish this year. Some might call it arrogant or self-centered, but I believe it's crucial to take time to appreciate yourself and your progress. A little "self-glaze," as I like to call it, can do wonders for your morale and motivation.

The Year Ahead: Setting Goals That Truly Matter

Now, let's talk about the year to come. My top-of-the-list goal for the upcoming year is simple: to set goals that I genuinely want to achieve. That's it. No more aspirational fluff, just real, meaningful objectives.

A Personal Record and a Gentle Nudge

I wanted to write this blog post as a personal record, a way to remember where I am now and what I'm aiming for. Hopefully, when I revisit this next year, I'll have achieved at least one or two of the goals I've set privately for myself.

Consider this blog post a gentle nudge to create your own list – a list filled with goals that resonate deeply with you.

It's a bit of a short one this time around, but I'll be back at the end of January with an update.

Make it Your Year

Until then, I wish you all a happy and fulfilling New Year. And never forget – always strive to make the next year your breakout year, or at the very least, work with that mindset as your guiding star.

See you guys then!
